R K Global Issues!

There's religare. Advance brokerage of Rs.1,00,000 will get you .005%.
I guess if you trade smaller lots like nifty/minifty then the advantage of RKG's Rs.9/lot disappears. Eg.4500 minifty = 1.15L so brkg = 11.5/lot (at .01%).
Stock futures with lots of 5-7L will take the cost to Rs.50-70/lot even at a 0.01% brkg.
But for Icharts I guess you need java installed right? And how are the indicators and drawing tools in it?

If we were able to get back fill and historical data in ODIN then would n't it be better to use ODIN itself for charting?
Icharts is good for most work. You can see upto four charts simultaneously and is reliable. They also have a backup charting tool in case main tool goes down. It went down on 19th - The only instance I saw in the last 3 months with them. Backup tool worked well on that day. And yes, you need java installed

I have seen charting from Geojit (Platinum), ILFS (TradeAnywhere) & ODIN. I just didn't get confidence in any of them.

If you are short on budget and trading with low capital then one of these charting tools might help. But if you are serious technical trader then you are better off with a third party charting tool.

As for brokerage, again if you are trading small quantities then RK may not be worth it. With brokerages offering percentage wise brokerage, your charges increase as your trade size increases. With RK fixed brokerage helps a lot.

Following are their addresses given in their web-site. I tried to call them. But none of them went through:

N Mohan 553, 1ST Main Road, Nagendra Block, B.S.K 3rd Stage, Bangolore 09241786135
Cariappa Narendra Plaza, Property No-10/2, Victoria Road Bangalore - 560047 09886693661

Meanwhile, my conversations with Calcutta Service executive continues. I asked them for a dummy username and password to get a feel of the account. For three days, the executive made me promises and today finally she gave me a username and password. Guess what, these are for ODIN platform. I want to open a web-based trading platform and she wants me to look at the ODIN platform and analyze it

Anyways, as I was writing this write-up, I got a call from Bangalore-based Mohan (whom I had called earlier unsuccessfully). He has promised to show me a demo tomorrow. For that I would need to download a remote desktop software and then connect to his terminal. Lets see, how it goes further.
Will keep you guys updated.
Hi Hiteshjoshi,

Even i have contacted mohan for opening the account he is coming to me today. Only one thing i am worried about is the pay-in and Pay-out. I have ICICI bank account and would like to link it to the trading account but as i read somewhere that they do not credit your account for pay out instead they send you the cheque. is that true because it will be very time consuming if its sent through cheque.

Only tie up is with HDFC. If you have HDFC account pay in/out is direct from/to your account

Are you sure? ICICI as well cause their site insists on HDFC?
Too many changes going on at RKG some says data streaming is also problematic now a days. hopefully they are upgrading. It's about time.
They had only HDFC when I signed up. Even now when I do funds transfer, I see only HDFC.

If they have ICICI then it probably only shows up when they link your account.

Yesterday was a smooth day with RK. No issues with ODIN or data streaming. Data streaming freezes once in a while BUT there is a quick way to disconnect/reconnect without relogin to ODIN. In Tools menu, there is a broadcast server reconnect option

i too uses the ODIN of RK GLOBAL,

Have noticed that data freezes several times, though Server Disconnect/ Connect solves it, but doing it repeatedly is very inconvenient too.

One more peculier problem was faced aboy its Login Issue, on making attempt to login it was giving message from several days that Not Able to Connect Server (like this dnt remember the exact words).

The Delhi Unit of RKG accepted that there is some serious problem with the ODIN, and they are resolving it....

But as a trader working with such conditions of ODIN is suicidal....

Is anybody else facing such problem in ODIN of RKG??

Is a new version of odin being released? I think something like that is happening. They are doing something to their backend many are reporting disconnections.

They will most probably fix it soon because most of its customers are high volume traders for whom the Rs.9/lot becomes very good. Very few smaller traders there so any major disruptions and they will go out of business.

I have noticed that data in "orders book", "trades" and "integrated net position" reports is not updated in real-time any more.

So once I have submitted my order there is no way to modify or cancel that order for next 10-15 minutes sometimes. In fact there is no way to even see what order was placed by me some 5-15 minutes ago and if it has been executed or not.

Basically it is like placing an order and then praying for that order to show up somewhere on the screen.

I am willing to pay Rs. 25 per lot instead of Rs. 9 per lot charged by RK global. That is if someone can provide a proper trading platform that works.

There are far too many things that can go wrong during a day. Trading platform should not be an issue to worry about for us.
