R K Global Issues!

Quite interesting. They had told me they will be opening branch in Bangalore (this was in Oct 2008). Since I was already dealing with the Mumbai team I didn't bother to check their website.

They have mobile numbers mentioned in the site for the Bangalore counterparts. Why don't you call them directly?
Following are their addresses given in their web-site. I tried to call them. But none of them went through:

N Mohan 553, 1ST Main Road, Nagendra Block, B.S.K 3rd Stage, Bangolore 09241786135
Cariappa Narendra Plaza, Property No-10/2, Victoria Road Bangalore - 560047 09886693661

Meanwhile, my conversations with Calcutta Service executive continues. I asked them for a dummy username and password to get a feel of the account. For three days, the executive made me promises and today finally she gave me a username and password. Guess what, these are for ODIN platform. I want to open a web-based trading platform and she wants me to look at the ODIN platform and analyze it

Anyways, as I was writing this write-up, I got a call from Bangalore-based Mohan (whom I had called earlier unsuccessfully). He has promised to show me a demo tomorrow. For that I would need to download a remote desktop software and then connect to his terminal. Lets see, how it goes further.
Will keep you guys updated.

When you say you won't rely on it do you mean:
1. the charting features are not good/difficult to use
2. charts do give accurate/timely data?

As long as I can see candlesticks, a couple of ma and able to draw lines on them my charting needs are fulfilled.

If I can trouble you a little more can please post a screeshot of the charting terminal/inidcators?
Charting is avg/below avg. I have seen much better ones (icharts.in & esignal - I have used both)

It does not have historical data and if you have to restart terminal for whatever reason it does not backfill. Not something I will rely on.

It does have the basic studies. I will post charts later

Hi,

R K Global iNet(Web based trading platform) is down. I called them up and they said they are thinking of doing away with the web based platform. Is it true? If not, how long it will take for iNet to be up?

Today, I called up them (Kolkata branch) to clarify some doubts regarding account opening form issues, I said, for me web-based trading is ok, but they requested couple of times to go for ODIN and I replied let me see for a month and then decide, I just sent the application through courier and let me see how long it takes for approval.

Meanwhile, in Chennai also there is no branches RKG, but in their website it shows a contact person with landline and mobile no. in Chennai, but both contact nos. are gone dead.

I worried how their customer service will be after while trading.

So for charting now you will need another software?
That will add to costs. Will the saving in brokerage cover that?
I head that Angel Diet (ODIN from angel) can give back fill and historical data. Any idea?

Good point, here is what I think:

From what I have seen, on one nifty contract per leg (buy & sell) you will save Rs 50-Rs 200 depending on what the other guy is charging. RK all inclusive brokerage comes to about Rs. 83/- whereas Geojit (for ex) would come to about Rs. 228/-. Even at Angel (3 paise per Rs 100) all inclusive brokerage comes to about Rs. 212. At the lowest 1 paise per Rs 100, it comes to about Rs. 112.

If you are trading FnO you can recover your charting cost if you trade 6 contracts per month. icharts costs Rs. 650/- per month

Another option you can consider is to sign up with another broker just for charting. Choose a broker who gives you terminal (including charting) without charging monthly fees and who does not require you to trade. I heard this is possible with Sharekhan maybe even with Angel.

Disclaimer: I have calculated brokerage based on the numbers/percentages I know. I have Geojit's account so I can confirm for that too. I don't know if anyone offers brokerage lesser than 1 paise per Rs. 100

There's religare. Advance brokerage of Rs.1,00,000 will get you .005%.
I guess if you trade smaller lots like nifty/minifty then the advantage of RKG's Rs.9/lot disappears. Eg.4500 minifty = 1.15L so brkg = 11.5/lot (at .01%).
Stock futures with lots of 5-7L will take the cost to Rs.50-70/lot even at a 0.01% brkg.
But for Icharts I guess you need java installed right? And how are the indicators and drawing tools in it?

If we were able to get back fill and historical data in ODIN then would n't it be better to use ODIN itself for charting?

No Body Knows when it will be up . They activated ODIN for all users and if your account is not yet ,call them again and ask to activate odin . ( No extra charges )
