Hi AmitBE,

Talbros IPO looks promising based on the proceedings that are planned with the money collected from the IPO.

Considering that the company is already listed in BSE, do you have any suggestions on whether to go for the IPO? The existing graph for the company looks moving sideways for quite sometime now.

Regards

Hi Amit, Thank you very much for your reply on Univeral Cables. If you can please explain "not a liquid script" and its impact on investment, I will be thankful to you (I am new to this domain and am in the process of learning).
KEI is KEI Industries, and the symbol as appears on Equitymaster is (KEIN), not sure if these are symbols on BSE or NSE.Regards
Hi tradebull...
Liquidity in trading terms implies the amount of activity in a scrip.
Liquidity, broadly, is the existence of a sufficiently large number of buyers and sellers in a scrip to permit one to quickly and easily acquire or exit a position in a scrip.
Liquidity is based on certain factors, the important ones being:
Volume of transactions in the scrip. Higher the better mostly.
Number of shares outstanding. More the better.
Breadth of ownership, meaning the higher the number of holders of the scrip the better.
Volume too is a component of liquidity. A good trading stock should trade at least 5 lakh shares or more. Stocks with high volumes allow traders to acquire or sell a large quantity of the scrip without unduly affecting its price.
There is a direct relation between liquidity and volatility.
Typically a strongly liquid scrip will attract a large number of traders who are looking for volatility, meaning the price action would fluctuate enough for quick entry and exit.
On the other hand, an illiquid scrip would not to be attractive to most traders, particularly day traders as volatility is not too great in such scrips.
Universal Cables is not particularly a liquid scrip, and for that reason is not too volatile. The fact that there was a sharp rise in volume along with a slight dip in price, is a matter of interest and concern.
I'll come back on Sunday with my take on KEI.
Regards.

Dont know about others, but GR Cables is a sure shot bet. it has added new products to its porfolio which are much in demand for the infrastructure projects. has started getting huge orders. should deliver excellent results and hence the price is bound to increase. Good for short, medium and long term

Hi brewin_waz...thanks for getting the entry levels..
Prism cements is making a short term corrective move, it appears, having made the monthly high in Aug at 27 whre it twice attempted 28. It's a typical action when a trending scrip meets with resistance at higher peaks, to retract a little and consolidate before attempting the upside again. It's a sure hold, looking at your entry too. 24-25 are good supports should the need arise, though the indicators suggest sideways consolidation at the CMP. It's a good scrip to hold also for the fact that as a small well run company, it could possibly be a target for a take over bid at some point.
UCO Bnk is at a crucial support currently at 31.80 and needs to clear 33 to gain strength. There is much congestion ahead, and the progress is likely to be slow. Perhaps you should watch for a bit and possibly take your money elsewhere.
Ispat Industries...I'm not aware when you came in on this, but it appears as if the correction following the high at 32 in March, to a low at 17 off in June is not complete yet. Currently it's at a resistance mark at 22-24 and could possibly clear it should the volume come in. Next, there would be resistance at 25-26 where it may retract again. See if there is a move along these lines, and if so, exit at the higher levels suggested. Of course the scenerio could be different at that point, and do update me.
Regards.

Hi tradebull...I usually don't track IPOs, but Talbros being in the auto components business, it coluld be a decent pick. I remember reading somewhere, it has entered into a joint venture with Nippon Corporation of Japan for supply to the Honda group of companies. Go for it if you like.
The chart does seem sideways, sandwiched between support at 136-137 and resistance at 142-144. A close above 150 would signal a breakout.
Regards.
