it will touch 1500/- soon ,on the other hand some believe it will touch
1100/- soon.The first category people will BUY ( either stock futures or
stock options) ,and the other will SELL (short either stock futures or
stock option).The first category will ADD to open interest and other
SUBSTRACT to open interest.

columbus...IMHO a buy and sell pair contributes to one number addtition in OI.
i.e when there is a seller{short seller} of RIL futures @ 1300 there has to be a buyer and they both contribute to addition of OI.
when the contract is covered , it results in reduction of OI.
is it right or am i missing out something here

Hi arvindhbadri......Open interest is the total number of outstanding futures and options (F&O ) contracts at any point in time. In other words, these are open or yet to be settled contracts. For instance, if trader X buys 2 futures contract from trader Y(who is the seller), then open interest rises by 2.

If another trader A buys 2 futures contracts from trader B, then the open interest rises to 4. Now, if trader X unwinds his position and the counter party is either Y or B, then the open interest in the system will reduce by that quantity.

How about spreading such news(es)....one of my distance cousin works for NDTV Profit and I just met her last week....it seems Financial Media is actually heavily sponsored by so called Brokerage houses..Brokerage house works for Cartels...

So at least 60% the whole thing is illusions to move the prices in such way that Cartels business runs..

Though as I keep saying..in a way it's good for us should be able to spot their movement and capture it but...

27March Markets (Painfully)Extra Volatile ,50 % Bull 50% Bears,Where Market Will Head

Todays Trading session was extra volatile ........

My head started revolving and I was never sure where markets will move it was an extra volatile session I have ever seen........

Today I shorted SBI and exited with small gains as I was 50 percent bullish and 50 percent bearish on markets .........


I still feel markets will come back to Nifty 2000 and Sensex 7000...........

Where do you see markets heading from here .....

I think market will retrace little bit and then can go up to 300 points ++ on nifty.
Past performance of nifty shows that.

I am a day trader and try to trade on extremely volatile stocks.
Such stocks changes from time to time.
Right now i trade in.

1 DLF
2 RELIANCE CAPITAL ( just broken out of range)
3: educomp
4: icici bank

also try to trade the very first day the stock is listed coz there are no circuits and huge moves will be there but first convince your broker first, he may hesitate but if you can convince him as is not illegal.
