Zerodha - Number One Discount Broker in India

To all the people facing the order book issues.

Let me tell you why zerodha cannot fix it, because zerodha does not own the source code for ZT. They just have the name on it. Source code is owned by omnesys and they won't fix the issues because they are bought by Thomson Reuters and guess what Thomson Reuters is a news company, not a software company, and you think Thomson Reuters cares if zerodha complaints. So these issues and futures issues may never get fixed.

Only solution to this problem is Zerodha has to get a new trading terminal , which they can control the vendor to get the technical issues resolved.

So guys, no point bitching about the technical issues here. nothing will happen.
If it has become a real pain point, find another broker who doesn't use NEST trader. simple.

you can't have your cake and eat it too with a discount broker.
Its disappointing that the issue is not fixed yet. But your Thomson Reuters logic seems like FUD to me. (Unless you know about their internal working of which i have no knowledge )

1. Just searching and looking at wiki, i can seem many software acquisitions in Financial sector by them. Do you think they are just blowing money? Can a news company not have software divisions? They seem to be many things.

2. If ZT is paying for customizations on top of NEST, its possible that they own the customization code. This is how it worked when i worked for another company ( not related in any way). Do you have inside info of them not having control? Somone reported that NEST from another broker is working, so perhaps its a bug in their custom code.

3. Zerodha probably have a contract with them for code maintainence or they hire their own. If they dont have control over bug fixing then they are asking for trouble. Maybe this is the case which pushed them to create inhouse - dont know. I just hope they release it soon but only once its stable.

There are discount brokerage alternatives to zerodha, so i guess we can have our cake for now :)

Guys,

As a trader, I know there is no excuse for this, but give it a couple of trading days more. I cannot really discuss what the cause is on a public forum. We are completely revamping/changing our systems at both our primary, backup, and disaster site over the weekend.
We will try to make up for any inconvenience caused to few of you, by hopefully going live by this month end, on one of the most popular request received from all our traders till date.

if they had omnesys under control , they wouldn't need to revamp/reinvent the wheel.

Guess Zerodha answered it. Lets hope something better comes out this month end.

Atleast issues/ problem in ZT is acknowledged :)

Next few weeks, volatility will increase, so hope the systems do not let us down.

The calculator on this page http://zerodha.com/margin-calculator/SPAN/
Still doesn't work ....tried with both Firefox and Opera, though it has worked before with these browsers
Working now with both browsers

They are trading for Zerodha now, on profit sharing. 20% above 10% pa. .. Both are Nifty/Banknifty traders, futures and options. The first 2 months, we would typically start traders at around 10lks, and then keep doubling up the size every couple months or so.
