About Pi, guys this is a massive project (it is a full fledged trading application) and the reason for putting it out was to ensure that when we have the final release, we don't miss out on any expectations.

@throwaway, we will call this pre-alpha/alpha release from now, if the question is all about calling it something.

It was also important to have this out, to see how our backend systems work. We have just put an entire new rack of servers which we will be migrating to in the next week.

So yeah, like we have said before, Pi is not something anyone is compelled to use. If you want to test it and help us spot/fix bugs, it will be helpful to have the final release out soon. We will put up another release early next week, and yeah will inform when the data server is completely functional.
Good that you realize that it is not really a tradable version. So, why don't you make it available for mock trading for a while ? Consider it seriously. Ask your software developers. Any software is first run with test data.

Also try doing this: tools>nest auto plugin>to start on login (tick)>refresh and relogin
That simply hangs up the software

The exchange UAT (testing environment) can't really be given to big group of clients. We test it in house on that.

We have to wait for mock trading days on NSE, when we can enable test for all clients. We did it on the last mock trading day, we will do it on the next one as well.

We are working on a demo environment for people to trade on and test strategies, but that will take a bit longer..

About NEST plus, checking.

Yes thank you for this Zerodha. Now only if you had set this expectation right from the beginning. It would be nice. only took you 2 mins to do that.

There would be no issues of you set the expectations right. So now we know what to do and what not to do with Pi.

We understand everything about Pi... It is very important to get all the glitches and errors fixed before the release and I understand that...

But the one thing is, you need to equip us with basic tool to at least test Pi... To test Pi, we need the feeds right... The only basic thing that has been the problem from the day the beta was released till date.... We need correct reliable data which gives us enough confidence to trade on Pi... Please set the feeds right and I guess we will be able to find if there are any more problems with it.. We are beta testing with our investment on the line which we are glad to do.. But it is impossible to even trade when we always have the thought that 'the chart will probably screw up right in the middle of a trade' on the back of our head....

Hope we are not too critical about your process....

Please respond to this.
Amit, we never said brokerage will drop by half. We charge Rs 20 or 0.01% of the contract value whichever is lower. So if the contract value drops to below Rs 2lks, then you will be charged lesser than Rs 20.

Coming to some of the competition charging lesser, don't know how long they can stay competition if they can't earn out of the business.

Yep on the data bit, what we had planned initially didn't work out and we are working on an alternate solution. Don't want to get into a blame game, but it was thanks to our wonderful technology vendor.
