1) Does Zerodha allow you to phone in their agents and place the orders?
2) Do they have commodities and are the rates for commodities are also Rs. 20?
3) Do they have a branch at Chennai?

yes.

Yes. rs. 20 per order.

3) Do they have a branch at Chennai?

No. they do not believe in opening branches.

Then all happens at one place at their head office? So if i want to open an account, what is the procedure and whom do i approach and where should i give the application, etc.?

Do a calculation for zeroda v/s RK global for 1 crore and you will arrive at the following:
Actually for zeroda per lot brokerage comes to around 6 Rs per lot if you trade nifty of 1 crore and for RKG it comes to Rs.9 per lot and savings you get in zeroda is 3Rs per lot + 10% more margin + if you use CO then with all its drawbacks you get double as compared to RKG
Other benefits in zeroda is that software is free and RKG charges 100Rs per segment per month for web and for software 300Rs per month per segment
So, zeroda is cheaper but not as cheaper as it appears to be.

Today my all buy & sell pending orders got cancelled automatically on ZT without calling or emailling me (They called it as technical problem !!). Then I had to place the orders again. But this changed my order no. for penny stocks because of which I could not gain profit. There are also other some technical problems on ZT. Sachin can you call me ?
Does the above incidence of cancellation of pending orders from zerodha department happend to anyone else ?

Can you paste a copy of the order book here ? (cancelling out the personal details, of course). The reason for cancellation may be written there.

Just realized that it has happened to me as well. Am letting it pass, as one of those things.

Fortunately, most of my penny stock orders get placed using the excellent Basket Order feature in ZT (but the cynic in me says that it needs improvement); so it was no big deal to place them again.
