I am too much in need of bracket order. Is there any way I can enable this? Not interested in I3 because it's too expensive. I want just bracket order.
Why is it that NSE/BSE are so technologically backwards. In US/EU , you can trade directly from the charts and you have all kinds of orders accepted, including bracket orders.

When is NSE going to wake up , India has the largest number of traders in the equity market and is the number 1.

That you can trade directly from the charts is not an exchange issue; it is a feature of your terminal -- so that does not count as a reflection on NSE.

Bracket orders is certainly an exchange issue. It is surprising how many traders request their broker for the facility; and equally surprising that some brokers pretend to offer it, or so I've heard. Unless the exchange can cancel the opposite order atomically, the broker runs a risk however co-located with 250 milli-second transient delay he may have.

That said, I do not believe NSE is backward, at least the technology team. It is a matter of the ones that make policy, such as that you have a 10% limit on liquid F&O scrips (compared to typical 20% on illiquid) and that mini versions of contracts (e.g. MiniNifty) are eliminated.

Guys,

We received our SEBI certificates for MCX-SX today, looks like all of you(our clients) will get to trade free on MCX-SX for a few months..

Will update here by end of the day tomorrow....
Great !!! What we have to do to add MCX-SX Equity and F&O ? Can we use the same money deposited for BSE and NSE ? Please reply, Thanks

I think...different exchanges, different capitals....just like nse and mcx....
No..... Same money can be used. It is because all of the 3 exchanges has a common segments.... i.e. Equity/derivatives.

We can use the same fund for all purpose (Cash/FNO/CDS) whatever the exchange it may be but it is only the commodity which requires separate funds. I have account with a broker who provides MCX-SX currency and in that account I can use the same funds for BSE/NSE and MCX-SX also.

So... to sum it up........ MCX-SX, BSE & NSE will be one group and MCX & NCDEX as another.

Really?. Just ask Zerodha here if they can provide a feature to trade from the charts and see the reply they give.

US/EU exchanges don't seem to have any issue with bracket orders. How come only NSE has a issue?

I do not believe NSE is backward, at least the technology team.
you can believe what you want. But the reality is , even in this age, there is no progress in technology in India when it comes to trading.

We are lucky to have a clunky and buggy NEST trading terminal at-least.

If NSE is not backwards , then our many Indian brokers are backwards certainly, which directly impacts the retail traders.

Really what? How does Zerodha/Omnesys not having a trade from the charts reflect on NSE.

Agree, it is an exchange issue. Nothing different was said, so why are you abrasive?

Same difference. In terms of the technology team at NSE, I think they are capable enough to implement bracket orders, if the policy makers allow it. So much was said, nothing more, but your brush is broader it seems.

yusi/ztrader,

To trade from the charts you can use the amibroker plugin.. I guess as and when technology gets advanced we can start offering them directly on the platform, instead of doing it on ami and then using a trading plugin..

Bracket order is definitely an exchange issue, don't know why they consider it an algo..

Technology wise, both the exchanges/trading platforms of brokers have a long way to go. Why we cannot place a simple GTC order on NSE still surprises me and why a trading platform can't have really advanced charting also does the same... That said we have to work with what we have and hopefully soon we will be at the international standards...
