If I buy unitech(8000shares) at 20.10 paise and sells it at 20.15., so as per zerodha's brokerage rates i am still profitable!!!! is it true???? in Angel and IIfl They charge minimum 5 paise per share for unitech lanco Gvk etc....if it is true then atlest i can make wonders because gaining 5paise is very easy(buy at days low and imidietly sell after 5paise profit)!!! till now i have not done it so asking if it is possible or not???
Please check our brokerage calculator

http://zerodha.com/main/calculator/calcs.html , Mention your price and quantity it will tell you the exact breakeven point.

There is no minimum brokerage with us, for a trade that you have mentioned, you would make a profit of almost Rs 350. Breakeven point for this trade would be only Rs 0.01... Cheers..

There are 2 scenarios:
1. In case you don't have the stock in your demat
If I have stocks in demat , are you going to take these stocks to square off open shorted position next day ? .....its horrible :annoyed:

2. we would transfer it to any other demat account of yours...
"any other demat account" ? why to any other ? I dont have any other account really.

if you do this then issue here is who will pay the leveraged money ? I dont really want these shares into demat...thats why I chose Intrday MIS order(with leverage) ...I just want to square it off.. because I dont want to pay the leveraged money to get these stocks into demat.

whats the solution at this part ?

Hey MP,

People have lost shirt, pants, house, cars etc because of these issues..

Market has inherent risks and this risk you take when you decide to trade in the market..

If you short a stock and it goes circuit up, we have to see if there is stocks in your demat and deliver it.. If that doesn't happen, the exchange auction rates could be huge and you could make severe losses because of this.. Recently one of our clients had shorted 1lk worth of a B group stock, He lost almost 30k in auction... He shorted intending to cover it, but unfortunately the stock went circuit up... We typically in this case call the client and tell him to see if any friend he knows has the stock, so it can be transferred to demat to deliver...

Same case when you buy and stock goes circuit down... Even if you don't intend to take delivery, you would be forced to take it...

Risks trading the markets.. One of the ways to avoid this risk is to trade f&O stocks, because these stocks are on f&O there is no circuit up or down for them... So you are guaranteed an exit on the same day.. there are almost 230 stocks on f&O today...

Cheers..

Zerodha,

You are talking about the F&O contracts/lots, or you are talking about the stocks which also trades in F&O segment?

I am talking about stocks..

For eg when Satyam melted, there was no circuit on satyam, it came down almost 70% that day... The reason Satyam had no circuit was because it was a f&o scrip... So stocks which also have f&O scrips don't have circuits
