HI,

I am planning to open an account with Zerodha but i don't know how much safe my money would be with them.

currently I am using sharekhan.

can anybody help and guide me here

Regards,
EC
Zerodha have created a distinguished place for themselves in the Indian Brokerage industry . They are offering valuable services to traders at much lower costs than many other brokers . Surely you can read the thread and see the level of participation here and then judge that such activity is in itself a mark of popularity for Zerodha .

Regarding safety of your money you must know that its perfectly safe with Zerodha.

Though I myself do not have an account with Zerodha but my friend is using their services . He is satisfied .

I think the Problem is not due to NOW coding but processor and broadband connection quality. I used to face a lot of problems when i used intel core-2-duo processor but things have improved a lot on migrating to i5 processor.

The connection drops frequently due to quality of broadband used and one need not logout and re-login. One only needs to reconcile thru the Menu - Preferences > User settings > General, check the 'Prompt on Reconciling' box and click on 'Reconcile' button. This will bring back the day's orders and trades to your orderbook and tradebook.

regards.
I also have a core2duo.Even if its becoz of the processor why should i upgrade to other processor. Why not now team sort out their software. Why there is a need for latest processor when now doesnt even have a proper charting natively.Look at metatrader ....it need so little system resources and such low bandwidth that all indian trading software start to look like B...s...!!

From what u say ...now coding is good......means i should upgrade my processor .Next you would ask me to start my own ISP service if i want better net connectivity.

The 'FEATURE" of logout first and log in again if disconnected is something i have only found in now.exe.It is just so stupid. Why cant now team implement the force login feature like other platform. Why i am not automatically logged out if i get disconnected.Either give me a direct reconnect/relogin option or force login option why this stupid ritual of login ....logout....login on disconnection. Its such a waste of time.

Dont even ask me about nestplus based charting plugin problems. Its a can of worms.

we all know the saying what Intel giveth, Microsoft taketh, well all software does, by the the way windows xp and window xp service pack 2 onwards, hardly any difference in experience by user (except the security), but resource wise requirement can be double.

In summary, if i7 is available in market, new users buy predominately i5, software developer assumes minimum requirement for his software will be i3, if you have core2duo, just forget it, you will be able to use it but then have to lean lot of curse words.

Core2Duo's work perfectly fine with NOW, no need to upgrade to i3 or i5. Even if you upgrade, then upgrade to i5 not i3. In a way core2duo is better than i3.

If someone is having a problem with more than 80% CPU usage, then try and find out if there are other processes using up the CPU, e.g. antivirus or some malware. NOW.exe does not use more than 15-20% of the CPU even with all 55 scrips loaded.

My power goes off daily for an hour.I use mobile platform during that time.it is just to monitor market but nothing beyond that as chart does not refresh, have to alternate between market watch ,chart, and scrip data, etc.Usually it takes couple of attempts to log in from my system after power comes but yesterday it took full thirty minutes as repeatedly user already logged in(had already logged out from mobile platform),request failure etc came.Had to shut down system three times and in between went to site, nowonline.in and logged out to finally finally login.
The agony did not end there.I couldn't modify/cancel the stop loss sell order as it was rejected even after several attempts and had to shut down system and re started by which time stop loss was hit.
What next?Zerodha trader has mobile platform or not? When is the switch over, will log in problems disappear...I am especially worried as in September power will go from noon to one p.m when all the volatility happen during pre Europe open and during Europe market open

I was simply sharing my experience, sorry that I annoyed you so much! And I have absolutely no intention to ask you to launch your own ISP. :)

Also my remarks were about NOW software and not browser based version.

Bye!

Disclosure: I don't have holdings in Intel, Microsoft, NSE or Omnesis :D

Re: new cheapest broker is here. Zerodha

Hi Guys,
I called http://www.zerodha.com guys today.
They have fantastic offer. They offer cheapest brokerage in market, much less than even RK Global.
1. Per order rate - 20 INR and not against per lot - FNO, equity.
2. Direct NSE terminal from NSE server, no server from broker in between.
3. Live technical analysis from NSE TAME on NSE server.
4. Leverage 10 times - nifty stocks
5. 5 times leverage on stocks.
6. Account opening -600/-
7. Amc 400/-
8. There is no charge on software like RKG.
9. They use NSE NOW and http://nowonline.in/now_home.html (run by NSE).
10. No commitment for lots per day.

pllease go thru zerodha's didsclosure of agreement

I think, now we are going to have vanilla brokerage plans. They don't charge per lot in FNO, they charge flat rate against per trade. This is very good.
Server issue is not there as NSE server being used. I have not used TAME, any one know how it works?
I am thinking to open account with them.
Do anyone already using them?
please go thru their disclosure in the agreement
