I also have a core2duo.Even if its becoz of the processor why should i upgrade to other processor. Why not now team sort out their software. Why there is a need for latest processor when now doesnt even have a proper charting natively.Look at metatrader ....it need so little system resources and such low bandwidth that all indian trading software start to look like B...s...!!

From what u say ...now coding is good......means i should upgrade my processor .Next you would ask me to start my own ISP service if i want better net connectivity.

The 'FEATURE" of logout first and log in again if disconnected is something i have only found in now.exe.It is just so stupid. Why cant now team implement the force login feature like other platform. Why i am not automatically logged out if i get disconnected.Either give me a direct reconnect/relogin option or force login option why this stupid ritual of login ....logout....login on disconnection. Its such a waste of time.

Dont even ask me about nestplus based charting plugin problems. Its a can of worms.
No issue with C2D with Now you can use it without any issue. Only & only issue is internet . If your internet link is not stable u will have problem with Now. Last 2 year i am using now with zerodha. When i have unstable link i have faced lot of problem with now. But when i shifted to stable link all problem related to now gone. If u disconnected u have to reconcile again no need to login log-out. I am using Airtel Broadband service with Now & both are working without any problem.

Core2Duo's work perfectly fine with NOW, no need to upgrade to i3 or i5. Even if you upgrade, then upgrade to i5 not i3. In a way core2duo is better than i3.

If someone is having a problem with more than 80% CPU usage, then try and find out if there are other processes using up the CPU, e.g. antivirus or some malware. NOW.exe does not use more than 15-20% of the CPU even with all 55 scrips loaded.
I was not referring to NSE NOW in particular, but to the complete environment meaning , the operating system, the antivirus all.

Imagine with lower configuration of computer hardware(processor, Ram, etc), you have windows 7 and and anti virus. To add to it it is configured to start scan on starting your computer. how do you think will be your performance of NOW?

by the way I used NOW on internet connection from mobile 2G, in a area where the signal strength was feeble ( on a vacation), NOW worked flawlessly, only problem was with nest plus. It failed to configure and when could , then the chart was just ok.

In short NOW without Nest plus is a very light application and works well with even very feeble internet.

I was simply sharing my experience, sorry that I annoyed you so much! And I have absolutely no intention to ask you to launch your own ISP. :)

Also my remarks were about NOW software and not browser based version.

Bye!

Disclosure: I don't have holdings in Intel, Microsoft, NSE or Omnesis :D
I am also just sharing my experience.:DLOl.Nothing personal. Please take care.Bye:)

I am using C2D/Dualcore and have no issues.May be lots of program and services are running in background.Using a Good antivirus with firewall will resolve many problem

Today is 2nd September & we were all supposed to hear some good words about NestTrader TODAY.

Waiting for the announcement yet .......

man ...configuration of your machine in signature.....do you use that machine for trading ! what is net speed ?
Configuration amended, added my Internet Speed too ........ it is 2 MBPS Airtel with 75 GB FUP (Fair Usage Policy), after this limit is crossed, my connection reverts back to 256 kbps for rest of the month .........

sekharz, why full 8 GB RAM not read in a 64 Bit OS. That too u hv dedicated video card.

Sorry for late reply as I was away .......

Earlier I was using 32 bit version of Windows 7 and found out that only 1.89 GB (from the same 8 GB) was usable at that time, I googled and then came to know that in 32 bit versions, Windows uses maximum 2 GB even if you had put 16 GB of RAM, then I switched to 64 bit version.

As far as the consumption of "Full 8 GB" is concerned instead of 7.86, Windows always keep some portion of RAM for itself, some OS keeps a little more than mine. And of course, as you have shown YOUR SYSTEM, you can see it shows only "Installed RAM", while mine is showing BOTH "Installed RAM" as well as "Usable RAM", thats it ........

Hope it helps ........
