It varies...I disconnect Broadband and connect with Reliance 3G data card ..and my system works fine:)

I feel more confident with Reliance 3G data card than BSNL broadband during trading hours.
Agree. I have a BSNL Broadband Landline connection, but I use my Reliance 2G data card as my primary connection. While the speed of the BSNL Broadband is good, every 1 hour or so the the BSNL Net connection disconnects for a few seconds and then resumes again. BSNL Not reliable for day trading. OK to watch movies etc.

can I buy commodity say crude 1 lot (25k margin) and NF 1 lot (30k margin) simultaneously with 60k in my nse account or have to deposit 30k each in nse and commo accounts ? people trading in commo and nifty both in ZT , share your experience.

You can place the order at one time, by using the basket order facility. But it will still be considered as 2 different trades as you are trading 2 different contracts..

You can use the omnesys option strategy plugin, check out the link on https://plus.omnesysindia.com/NestPlus/Plus/view.jsp?prd=option_strategy

But if the idea is to place multiple trades at a time, you can use bulk order facility (Ctrl +B).

Cheers
I guess basket order facility and bulk order facility are same thing ....I find basket order facility in ZT.

Zerodha,
Can you please tell me the steps how to use basket order facility ? Not familiar with this window before.

also ...will it be one transaction unit ? i.e either ALL orders executed or Nothing.

also ...what does RESET do ? Does it remove all trades ?

i think cherry on the cake is that you cant transfer amounts among these. say you have 60K in ur nseaccount and you want to transfer 30K in MCX account. The only simple way is to withdraw 30K and then deposit this amount to zerodha in MCX account. which shud take 2-3 working days.

Hey zerodha please simplify this procedure. Sharekhan allow instant switch of funds among various exchanges.

thats bad for small traders...say you have 100k capital even then you have to divide 50-50 for both segments and deposit separately....:(..alag alag karke aur chota capital ho jayega...

@gulu,

We as brokers, can offer margin benefits to only what exchanges recognize.. What exchanges in India recognize as reduced risk is if you are long stock and short the index or vice versa... You can check that reduced margin by using the SPAN calculator..
Just checked Long NIFTY, Short OptoCircuit. No margin benefit as shown by SPAN calculator.

In case of Long Index and Buy Index PUT, margin benefit is there.

For those worried about inter-exchange transfers, see this post by Zerodha.

You have a separate NSE (includes NSE, BSE and CDS) client account and MCX client account.

You will have 2 ledgers on the trading platform, equity and commodity.

When you want to transfer funds from one ledger to other, you will have to go put a request to do the same on backoffice.. while opening the commodity account, you would have given us an authorization to move funds from your commodity ledger to equity ledger and vice versa.

We will transfer money on your behalf, but for the intermediate time when the transfer is happening we will give you credit from our deposits with the exchange for no additional cost..
